Wow… What a Video!!!
This is what I said as soon as I saw the video…There were so many videos which were all great but I was so moved by the video of Karthik Naralasetty which can be found at the link http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_embedded&v=zhKEwx74xA8
The above mentioned video was made possible with the help/efforts of Franklin Templeton Investments partnered the TEDxGateway Mumbai in December 2012
Blood- Essence of Life!! No one can live without it. We may be divided by Color,Religion,Sex,Nationality and so on and so forth but yet all united through Blood. We all have Blood and they all are of same color – Red. There is no differentiation on it except the Blood Group.
Saving Life is such a noble thing and we all can contribute towards it though not all of us are Medical Practitioners / Doctors. Yes, we can donate blood. The video in which Karthik Naralasetty appeared said how he felt it would be an easy task to fetch blood but in reality it was not the case…
He also went ahead to said if 1/3rd of any country’s population can donate the blood, it can solve this crisis since there is no question about availability of people since World has got enough population but this is about “Compassion Crisis”
Karthik Naralasetty did a great idea by creating 8 different pages in Facebook for 8 different blood groups inviting the interests from like minded people and finally linking them all in one web portal. This is a great idea. It also showed location where blood is needed and donors can be located along with the nearest hospital and links.. The video may have ended here but I am sure Karthik Naralasetty by now would have further enhanced the idea.
As soon as I saw the video, I got a spark on my mind.
Why not Mobile App??
I certainly agree that Facebook is a great Social Networking Site with so many billions of users but why not on a much popular Medium – Mobile Phones??
Today, Mobile Phone is spread anywhere and anywhere with India having one of the most highest Tele-density next only to China and is rapidly expanding. With this, if an App can be developed which is compatible for all Platforms be it Android,BB,iOS,Symbian to name a few and made available for FREE,one can log in to view the information whenever and where ever required.
When this is done,it can reach billions of users effectively and it is cheap since 2G has become really affordable these days. The news can also reach more effectively and in a much faster way. If Karthik Naralasetty wants to take forward my idea, I am more than happy to give it to him since he pioneered the concept, the other way round.
Let us all Unite Together and Save Precious Human Lives.
