My Date with Melbourne

 Melbourne

A Paradise on Earth. It is a place which can boast about its beauty which cannot be found anywhere else in the World.

Well, if you ask me why and what I have liked in Melbourne, there are quite a lot of them. To start with, I liked it since it is in Australia. Australia is a place which I have always wanted to visit. You can reach there by various airlines and I would prefer to fly in Qantas to reach there.

Australia is known for its scenic beauty and also for its beaches and other natural resources like Gold to name a few.

Melbourne houses my favorite spot – The MCG(Melbourne Cricket Ground) and I could still connect it to my childhood days of watching Cricket played between various nations in this awesome ground and I could remember the Australian greats like Waugh Brothers, Allan Border, David Boon, Merv Hughes, Craig McDermott who have played here and made their presence felt.

I love Melbourne since it has also got METRO. Being an adventure junkie, I would also like to explore Yarra River in Melbourne.Another reason why I have liked Melbourne is its Rich Heritage and History. Being an ardent history lover and also an aficionado towards Gold, I really cannot discount Melbourne since it is a known fact all over the world for its famous “Victorian Gold Rush”.

I like Melbourne for being the headquarters of BHP Billiton and Rio Tinto being the World’s largest mining companies and I would love to visit them as well, if given a chance. The harbors and the presence of Older Tradition with Modern Culture makes Melbourne, a real appealing one to me…

Apart from this place, I have also liked Royal Exhibition building which is a part of UNESCO World Heritage Site. It boasts of its architectural marvel. I have also liked the National Gallery of Victoria. I have always loved Culture and being the Cultural Capital of Australia, I know for sure Melbourne has lot more to offer…

Last but not the least, I have a pen-pal in Melbourne. This also makes Melbourne a favorite place for me because when I visit Melbourne, I shall visit my pen-pal for sure.

  1. I liked the Royal Exhibition because I am a lover of Cultural and Heritage Sites and it stands as a testimony to the History of Melbourne

  2. Great post! After reading your post & watching all the videos, I’d most like to visit the Dandenong Ranges for it’s scenic beauty, breathtaking view and cool breeze blowing through my hair. 😛 I’d give anything away for driving through the winding roads which are present throughout the ranges. I’d love to stay at one of the bed and breakfast cottages and go on frequent excursions in the forests with my camera which provides excellent views. And not to forget the famous ride in the Puffing Billy, a day reserved especially for that. To add to that, there are also several picnic spots for me and my friends to spend a fun-filled day and the ranges are a perfect spot for hiking and cycling. 😀

  3. Wonderful post and interesting videos that make me feel that
Melbourne invites the eternal romantic in me to hold hands with my beloved and go see the Twelve Apostles .Go on long drives on the great ocean road. In the middle of nowhere in a vineyard spread a table and enjoy a meal and a glass of wine with my dear one. Enjoy the sunsets holding hands and do lots of shopping at the Queen Victoria Market and see all the graffiti being created at the hosier lane.
Great Post and interesting videos watching them I am sure to visit Sovereign Hill for spending some time in the era gone by. The lure of gold and panning for some nuggets is a temptation that is too much to resist. After I have found the gold I am bound to celebrate it with some wine so I will visit the vineyards and enjoy some great wine from the Yarra region .Visit the Pannys Phillip Island Chocolate Factory and have my fill with this yummy delight.
