Chennai has some of the best hotels which can make your journey really comfortable. Chennai is famous for its famous TamilNadu receipes which includes Idli, Medhu Vada, Dosa, Pongal, Paniyaram, Sambar to name a few for vegetarians. For Non-Veg, the list is even more impressive with Karaikudi Chettinad Chicken, Chicken Kolambu, Chicken Masala, Nattu Kozhi Varuval, Pepper Roast, Kadai Roast, Biriyani to name a few.

When you take some of the famous items mentioned above, you also have sub categories. For instance, in case of Idli you have Kushbu Idli, Rava Idli, Sambar Idli, Mini Idli etc and similarly with Dosa you have Masala Dosa, Rava Dosa, Paper Masala, Ghee Roast, Keema Dosa, Podi Dosa, Set Dosa to name a few. Chennai would surely delight the taste buds of any visitors satisfying their needs and desire. One can safely say that Chennai is a “Food Haven”.

If you are a traveler and ask me to recommend some of the hotels which offers good facilities, I have a long list since Chennai houses lot of hotels all over the city and some have good proximity to railway stations in Central and Egmore, Bus station in Koyambedu and Airport in Meenambakkam. Some are located in the major parts of the city like T.Nagar, Kodambakkam, Mambalam, Adyar to name a few.

Hotel Regent is one I would recommend since it is close to Egmore railway station and has very good service. This can be classified under budget hotels in chennai You would get some of the best services that would make your money, real worth for every penny paid. If you need to travel across the city via Bus or to other cities by Train, this hotel is an awesome one as it connects you well by means of Road and Rail. Hotel Pandian which is also on Egmore is also a great one since it offers awesome non vegetarian food for you to relish while you were staying there.

Hotel Bhimaas which has made a niche in the Temple City – Tirupathi is also in Chennai. You could find this in another prominent place called Vadapalani which is famous for AVM Studios where lot of South Indian Movies are still shot, Vijaya Hospital and Heart Foundation, Forum Vijaya Shopping Mall and renowned Vadapalani Temple. You can book your stay online as well making it a real easy affair for you. The reason why I say this is to avoid being embarrassed since during summer, Chennai gets lot of tourists from all over the country and most of the hotel rooms are booked and shows no availability. So, don’t take a chance especially when you are planning at the last minute.

Vadapalani also has world famous restaurant Saravana Bhavan. This offers some of the tasty food and its renowned list includes 14 Idlis also called Mini Idlis served with Sambar and Ghee. You can also get Masala Dosa, Pongal, Vada, Parota, Poori etc. You name it, you have it. Though the rates are on the bit higher side, you can be rest assured about their quality as they use refined oil, quality ghee and do not reuse it. You could also get amazing Lunch and Dinner.

Most of the hotels in Chennai comes under the affordable category since they do not overcharge. The list is pretty long and you can find all of them at affordable hotels in chennai and if you are a foodie and if you are looking to relish the taste of Madras, you have lot of hotels including the ones mentioned above and also the likes of Sangeetha, Rathna Bhavan, Welcome Hotel. This doesn’t mean you cannot taste other cuisine. Chennai also houses other restaurants which serves you North Indian, Oriental, Continental etc which includes Novelty Tea House, Welcome Hotel and also Non Veg Hotels like Anjappar Chettinad Restaurant, Muniyandi Vilas, Velu Military Hotel, Paramount etc to name a few. You have also got some specific category hotels like Murugan Idli Kadai – where you can get to relish different varieties of Idlis, Nalas Appa Kadai – where you can get to taste awesome Appams to name a few.

There is also another restaurant which has come up just next to Star Vijay TV Office in Nungambakkam which is officially getting opened on 21/4/15 and I had an opportunity to taste their food  for the pre-launch. The place is called Annalaya and trust me, you will forget all around you as they have not some tens of food dishes but some hundreds – You read it right. I was astonished to see their menu card which was not contemporary like other places which is usually a card with 4 sides printed but a booklet which had several pages of items listed… Now I can see you all getting ready to come down to Chennai to taste some of the best food in India. See You soon….
