Indiblogger has never failed to entertain and enthral us when ever it came to organising a blogger’s meet and since I have been attending their past few meets, I decided to apply for it as soon as they announced one for this year.
The venue was Mango Mist Resorts, Bangalore.
As soon as I registered, I got an IndiPass confirming my registration.
I was so glad and I had booked my train tickets on Tatkal since getting train tickets to Bangalore on a weekend is next only to impossible. Mahesh Lakshmanan had also joined me. We reached the Central Railway Station well before the train’s departure time.
We got into the train and Mahesh we had settled in our berths. At 4AM, Mahesh came and woke me up as we were nearing Bangalore East Station. Indiblogger team had arranged couple of buses to pick us up and our pick up point was at Ulsoor Lake which is hardly a kilometer away from Bangalore East Station. We spotted a Tea Shop and ordered 2 cups of Coffee in the early morning 🙂
After finishing our coffee, we headed straight to Ulsoor Lake. Though I lived in Bangalore for 8 years and use to pass via Ulsoor Lake to my work place for almost 7 years, I had never been to the lake and I took this as an opportunity to get in. We had a walk for some time before taking our seat in the bench.
We spotted our bus which came promptly at around 6:45 AM.
Within few minutes all the bloggers had started assembling at the pick up point and the bus began its journey at 7:30AM
It took almost 2 hours for us to reach the resort and on reaching the spot, we were given Resort Passes and Band. The Management Team of Indiblogger including Renie Ravin was in our bus and they kept chatting with us till we reached the venue which was really refreshing for us as we shared some great ideas.
We were also given coupons so that we could try the games we wanted to. They had lot of fun stuffs like Shooting, Archery, Wall Climbing, Zipping, Paint Ball to name a few.
Before we could proceed any further, I must say that I was really impressed with the way Indiblogger worked. They scanned the IndiPass as soon as we got into the bus for the Check-In and we immediately got the SMS Confirmation and similarly, they kept sending SMS Alerts to ensure all things went well, as planned while we were in the venue.
The brands that took part in this events were Polaroid Cube, Samsung, Sony, Garmin, Altec Lansing, Red Chief Shoes and Coleman.
On this bloggers meet, I had an opportunity to meet up with Nandini Swaminathan, Community Manager from Chumbak who I knew for the past 1 year or so via Twitter and also Sathish T.R. whom I knew for the past 3 years.
I also would like to extend my heartfelt thanks to Mr K S Rajasekar, Head – Content and Social Media from Bharat Matrimony who had attended this event on my request 🙂
The Management Team from Flipkart was present who gave us the initial presentation and what the Company was doing it to make the sales and user experience better.
Once they are finished with their introduction and interaction, all the bloggers were divided into 7 groups and we started visiting the counters of various brands. You can take a look at the enthusiastic bloggers on this event.
The products were amazing. I am not going to speak about all of them in much detail here as they are very much available in Flipkart 🙂
Sony Cameras were awesome. The most amazing part was the size. The size of the handy cams of the first three pictures which you see above is just the size of a DVD Tape. They have so much functionalities on it which made it irresistible and so as Action Cam for Professional Photographers.
Coleman Products were truly awesome and I was really glad when I got their Lunch-Box Carrier as the Prize for one of the on-field contests being held. Yes – Indiblogger had announced on-field contests like best tweets, no of calories burnt, best short video using polaroid cube, Fastest wall climbing etc to name a few.
Altec Lansing Speakers and Headsets are just awesome. Some of them are Water-Resistant and they work with amazing technology. You can find more about these amazing products on Flipkart as well.
Red Chief Shoes are just awesome and they are competitively priced without compromising on quality and I was told that they have already been seeing some great numbers when it comes to sales on Flipkart.
We then moved to Polaroid Cube section.
Polaroid Cube were given to few who went to record their activities using this cam. I must say Polaroid Cube is a great idea and by shrinking the size, it ha now become a direct competitor to GoPro cam 🙂

We then headed to our favourite section – Samsung S2 Gear
I must say that I was really surprised by the functionality including Running Tracker, Heart Beat Tracker, Reading Mails and Replying back, Customisable Dial to name a few and this can be done even through a Bezel Dial. The Watch is Touch Screen enabled and works well with Samsung Smart Phones but not limited to it as it can work on other models as well but some of the features may not work properly.

I tried my best to hit the targets and when it comes to Archery, I was pretty closer to the Bull’s Eye and in Shooting, out of 5 chances, I got to hit a bottle – once!! Guess it is not bad for an amateur like me…
In-House food like Coffee, Lunch and Mock-Tail were served.
The hashtag for the event was #FlipkartOutdoors and do I need to say it was Trending?
Finally, after the lunch, we all were headed to play the Paint-Ball game. We were given briefing before the start of the game of the Do’s and Dont’s
We were given safety gear before we started playing the game.
The teams are now divided into 8 and there were 4 matches played in total. One of the scene is captured below.

Finally, we left the venue at 5:30PM and were dropped back in the same point at around 7PM. Mahesh and I went to Mast Kalandar in Frazer Town, finished our Dinner,left to Cantonment at 8:30PM.We reached there at around 9PM and we had to wait till 10:52PM for our train to come. We did discuss about the entire event and were really glad that we enjoyed it to the full 🙂
Adding Icing to the cake is when my tweets got featured by @flipkartstories within 48 hours 🙂
